Stablecoin is a cryptocurrency with a constant, unchanging value. It can be used to store capital (e.g. during a stock market decline), as well as to serve as a means of payment.
Examples of stablecoin are Tether (value equal to $1) or Stasis (value equal to €1). This cryptocurrency is usually based on blockchain technology, which further increases the level of transaction security.
Each issued stablecoin unit has collateral in the form of material goods (gold, silver) or FIAT money. The deposit is financed entirely by the creator of the stablecoin.
